Overview

Ceramic artist Gregory Duke approached us to create a unique brand identity for him and his work as an emerging ceramicist.

Taking inspiration from Gregory’s Mexican heritage we created a modern, eccentric English twist on the classic sugar skull iconography to match his work’s unique brand of quirkiness, but with a luxurious finish to reflect the price point of this popular artist.

Gregory wanted to explore a cultural icon from his Mexican heritage in his identity, applying a uniquely characterful twist to the classic sugar skull we brought a little of his own style to the marque.

The marque has been created in two formats; a detailed version and a simplified one designed principally for the purpose of small scale engravings, foiling and stamping into ceramics.

Taking two distinctly vibrant colours (orange and pink) that carry an association with Greg's Mexican heritage, the rest of the palette was crafted with a distinctly understated tone to maintain a level of sophistication.
